Dose of search engine
marketing improves Health.co.uk.
June 16, 2004
Discovery Health choose a collaboration between Neutralize, one of the UK’s leading search engine marketing agencies, and FutureStore, e-commerce specialists, to re-launch health.co.uk one of the most desirable lifestyle domains in the UK.
Arun Gatari, Managing Director, Discovery Health said “Working with Neutralize and FutureStore on this project has been a real pleasure, we are overjoyed with the results”
Prior to the start of the project, Neutralize conducted a research report looking at the size of the vitamin and mineral supplement market in the UK and internationally. In the UK alone there are an estimated 29,000 internet searches containing “supplement” or “supplements” per month and an even greater number that include the word “vitamin”. This search engine traffic represented massive potential for health.co.uk however the original website was not really up to the task of taking advantage of it.
Lucy Cokes continued “When Discovery Health first approached Neutralize, we could see the potential of tapping directly into a pool of actively searching buyers, but it was obvious the original site wouldn’t convert them. Discovery Health has ownership of an excellent domain name, selling products that thousands of people are looking for each day on the Internet. This means that it has the potential to achieve great things and really shift its products”.”
Generating retail sales online relies not only on the website, but equally on the marketing itself. The reality is that most companies usually have a great looking website, but no focused search engine marketing strategy to support it. Search engine marketing can be the most expensive part of any online retail project as it is where the majority of customers come from. By working jointly with on the project FutureStore and Neutralize are ensuring maximum performance at all stages, resulting in a better Return On Investment for Discovery Health and reduced total cost of ownership for the e-commerce website.
The FutureStore e-commerce system provides Discovery Health with a cost effective online control panel, from which the company can control the content of the site, maintain the product catalogue and check orders. Neutralize will also be running an ROI focused pay-per-click search engine marketing campaign as well as promoting the site on algorithmic search engines.
Lawrence
Brendish, Director, FutureStore commented "Discovery Health is our
ideal type of client. Its product is perfectly suited to selling online
as it's very information rich, and our e-commerce system works well with
Neutralize’s search
engine optimisation services. It is refreshing that Discovery Health
understands the importance of search engine marketing and has been proactive
in tackling it early… most websites leave it too late.”
